Assignment week 6:

Hi All,

Following the success of our masterclass on essay writing (!) I am looking forward to reading your essays on Monday evening.

Next week we will be doing newspapers on Monday as usual in the library. Please bring one/two with you but I shall bring spares too. Please summarise the week's political news on your blog, by Thursday 18th October.

Your homework task for next week will be to produce a revision aid for the rest of the class to use. I shall give the topics out today. I will be expecting one side of A4 but you can be as creative as you like. I will be asking for these on Thursday 18th, and you will be required to talk to the class about your work as well.

Dear All,

I am sorry that I have been off line this week, Well done to those of you who have managed the new technology as well as all the new stuff with Politics.

This weekend I read an interesting article on gender politics about women who are gaining power in the workplace but giving it all up. I will attach it if I can, but when you read the papers for homework please look out for articles we can discuss in class, that can link to our content.

Your work this week will be for some of you to re write your essays (or in some cases, write them) and then I would like you to research the constitutional arrangements of a country with a CODIFIED constitution. You need to comment on:

• The rights and limitations laid out in the documentation
• The restrictions on governement in such a system
• The benefits of a codifed constitution

You will then be writing me a comparative essay looking at the country chosen and comparing it to the constitution of the UK. 1000 words to be in by Monday October 15th. Precise title to follow.

Good morning All,

Your work for this week is the compile a collage of the political newspaper articles from today's lesson, to research constitutional changes since 1997 and write your essays.

Please could you add on a blog commenting on the week's political news and your opinion of constitutional change (a short paragraph on each). Due date for these is Thursday 20th September.
